back again

I've been neglecting this blog too long. After I lost Spencer, my dad passed, then my other male dog, Denver. September was a really bad month for me but things seem to be getting better now.
I'm going to be in my first craft show November 21. I'm excited and nervous!
Last month I joined the Canaveral Mineral and Gem Society, what a great group of people. I signed up for about 5 classes, just have to wait for openings. They put on a wonderful gem show at the Melbourne Auditorium last weekend. I didn't have much moolah but I did buy some aquamarine beads, pretty pink coral beads and some frosted agate which I have never seen before. It's in blue hues so I will probably incorporate it into my beachy jewelry.

a blue day

Well, I haven't posted in quite a while, I'm going to try and be better about my blog. Tara was here for awhile, 2 months and we had a good time while she was here. Unfortunately, one of my Goldens, Spencer, 11 years old, had to be put down so that was very sad. He had terrible elbow dysplasia from a young age and had surgery when he was 15 months old, he also had the beginnings of arthritis. He injured one of his back legs recently and it wasn't healing. We felt he was in pain, even with meds and was beginning to feel depressed so we opted to have him go peacefully.
I'm still having fun making my jewelry and I'm going to try my very first craft show in Novemeber. I hope I can make enough inventory by then. How much is enough??

rain, rain go away

It's been raining for days..... I think it might actually slow down starting tomorrow. Poor people north of us are really getting nailed, over 600 buildings are flooded. I drove along A1A, the beach today and quite a few people had picnic tables reserved and were doing their holiday thing, in the pouring rain.
Last week I had a cystoscopy without anesthesia of any type. Ouch!! That's something I won't repeat again. I really don't advise it for anyone.  Not much else going on. Seems all I do is go to work, come home, watch some tube, go to bed, get up and do it all again.

Itchy feet

OMG, my feet look like they have the measles! Last Wednesday, Rich and I met some friends in Sebastian Inlet park for a cook out. The no-see-ums (aka sand fleas) were out in force. Rich and I call them flying teeth. You can barely see them but you can sure feel them. I had jeans on so they mostly chewed up my feet. Other than that, it was a wonderful evening.
I had a pedicure last weekend and had my toenails painted purple, they really look awful with my red spotted feet, as soon as the bites clear up I'm going to get another pedicure with a more fitting color.

A night out

Rich and I actually went out last night. We haven't been out to a bar in I can't tell you how long. It was a country bar but they were supposed to have rock n roll. Apparently, the guitar player had a heart attack so no band. We had fun anyhow. Today I did some shopping and also made some new earrings. I put them on Etsy and I'm starting to add them to Artfire. Here's a pic of them. I had fun doing the seahorses in the sea fan. I made a mold of a real sea fan, then added the tiny seahorses.

I saw the Easter bunny

I saw the easter bunny today! I was walking the causeway, as I do on the mornings I'm off from work and I saw some dolphins swimming in the lagoon, then on my way back to my car, a bunny crossed my path! I've never seen a rabbit that close to the lagoon before. They often graze in my backyard because they are safe from the dogs there, but I've never seen them on my walks before. I missed having Tara on Easter this year, well, maybe next year. I'm really going to have to watch what I eat now, I gained about 5 lbs on my trip out to Texas. I hate getting older......

Back from Texas

I'm back from riding out to Texas with my daughter Tara and her labs so when I got home, I made some new jewelry to keep my mind off of her leaving Florida. Boooooohooooooo. I uploaded a couple pieces to Etsy and Artfire. I also uploaded my entry for the April Team Challenge for the Florida Etsty Street Team. The challenge is "fuzzy" so I made a donkey pendant, as my donkey Cocoa is very fuzzy.
Tomorrow it's back to work.............
