Walking the bridge

This morning I walked the Melbourne Causeway as I do most of the mornings that I'm off work. It's a beautiful walk, this morning I saw dolphins swimming about, on rare occasions, you can spot manatees. The causeways here are the only "hills" we have. Years ago I had a dexa scan, aka as a bone density scan, and it showed I had osteopenia which is the precursor to osteoporosis.........Yikes! The doc gave me Actonel which I took for just a couple weeks and decided I didn't want to take a drug for this, so I started walking. The second dexa scan I had was just a year ago and it showed that I was in the rating of a 25 year old, so ladies.........start walking! It does pay off.

  1. I too failed my first bone scan 2 years ago and have been on actonel ever since. Going for another scan soon( big procrastinator ME)I would love to quit taking it. when ever I do my Dr. pushes me to resume. I do walk but not consistently.
